While working on some inscriptions atop one of Jerusalem's most famous ancient tombs, the tomb of Absalom, we had to evacuate a local drug addict, who had been living there for a length of time and had spray painted a 'mihrab' on the wall so that he could pray in the direction of Mecca.

Recycling tombs, I'm all for it, originally Jewish, then Christian in the 4th cent and now a mosque in the 20th. .
