Korans in the Attic ...

ARCHAEOLOGY - Artifacts found on Konya mosque attic:
Many parts of Qurans, calligraphy that is 200 to 250 years old and two hand-written Qurans have been discovered in the attic of a mosque in the Central Anatolian province of Konya and delivered to the Konya Regional Calligraphy Art Library. The director of the library, Bekir ┼×ahin, said the works had been found by chance during a cleaning of the mosque’s attic.
This is not as unusual as it sounds - many very early Qurans were found in the roof of a mosque in the Yemen, as Muslims, like Jews, are reluctant to destroy documents with the name of God - and there are a number of similar Islamic "Genizahs" known around the world.
